Wow , its been a long time since I have updated this blog ! I some GREAT news that I would like to share with you !

In November 2011 , I opened a "people" photography studio in Belle Chasse and the name of my new studio is Blueberry Beignet Photography . With that , came alot of important decisions ...and one of them is to continue doing my pet photography ! The big difference , is that I will not be traveling with the RV pet studio anymore ..... however , I have it parked right next to the new studio in Belle Chasse and am utilizing its perfect set up for all of my pet photography . If you are interested in a Pet session ...please know that I am still the same photographer , and the pet studio and pet photography is the same as before !

Pet session fee is 20.00 and our pricing remains the same as before also , with packages starting at 49.95

Hello !

Happy New Year ! Its been way too long for updates on the blog ! I will try to get better at blogging this year ;)

At conference this year we were introduced to the magic of Blue Screen ( you may know it as Green screen ....same thing except you use a Blue screen rather than green ) Since that time I have been working on "getting it right" and finding just the right backgrounds/scenes ! I have many things in mind for future scenes .... and will be incorporating a couple of "New Orleans" themes as soon as I am able to ! When you come in for a session , we ask you to choose any 3-4 backgrounds that you would like . One of these can now be a special Blue Screen Scene ! For now , here are the new scenes we are able to offer !

Layla !

Anyone coming to our studio has met or will meet our little sidekick Layla . She comes with me for every shoot and is such a good dog , she will continue to be my constant work buddy companion. Everyone who has met her falls in love with her and cannot believe how un-phased she is by anyone .... human or furry ! Between clients she comes and sleeps by our feet ..... well , shall I say .... when we are not playing with her in the studio ! What can I say ...English Bulldogs are just fun to dress up !

New Bows !!

If there was one "problem" I would run into at least once every shoot is Bows . Clients will come from the groomer with pretty pink bows .... which is GREAT ! for Pink scenes ;) But then what do we do for LSU ? The classic Red Chaise lounge ? Saints ...Ect ?? Solution .... we now have FABULOUS NEW BOWS that will match all of our scenes ! If you have a bow wearing breed ... I know you will be just as excited about our new bows as I am ! They show up GREAT in the photos and give every photo that special something ! See you and your pet soon !

Meet Layla ! She is my new grand-pupper . I bought her for my oldest son Brandon and we sort of "share her" . She is with me about half of the week . I am soooo in love with her and have fallen for this breed ... the English Bulldog . Of course I have taken her to work with me several times and she is so good at posing . Lets hope it stays this way ! Bulldogs are usually my most stubborn clients ... but I have always loved them ! They are SO expressive ;)Here she is in my favorite girlie girl scene .

What a Beautiful Breed ! These two were a bit of a challenge ( the black and white Aussie is still a puppy , and was a bit camera shy ) but I managed to get the most AWSOME shot of them ! I dont think I can do this again if I tried . Luckily its the "dogs" who get that perfect pose ;)I love how their heads are close together yet not shadowing each other . They were just PERFECT !

Cuteness Overload !!

This week I had my share of Awwwwwwwww moments in the studio !! The first was a adorable baby girl and her PINK puppy !!! Since I love all things pink .... I got a kick out of the Pink Puppy !!! and the baby ( who has a 2 year old birthday coming up ! ) was just toooooooooooo CUTE and LOVED posing !

Then we had the 2 cutest little Poms ! The one on the right LOVED his "burger" ! I like getting shots with "Favorite Toys" that the parents bring in . For many dogs , they have a favorite toy or blanket ,that is always with them . Years from now , mom will look back at these pictures and remember all of those cute memories with " Burger" !

And last , but not least .... is my assistant, Nancy's yorkie crew ! They were bad lil devils for their pictures ..... but we managed to squeeze this one very cute picture out of them ! We were VERY happy to get this shot !!

We had some really nice dogs this weekend . Here is a Standard Poodle that I shot . Doesnt she look right at home on the red chaise lounge ?

We also had 2 Chihuahua's ! You know how I love Chi's !! This first lil guy was sooooooo adorable !!! He was the best little puppy ! He has the head tilt down pat !I also really love the different colors in this scene . It really POPS !

And here is the other Chihuahua in our Mexican theme . I love this theme ! It would look great in a kitchen , which is where most people who choose this put it ;)

English Toy Spaniel Cutie Pie

One of the things I like most about being a pet photographer is seeing all of the different dog breeds. I have always been a fan of dog shows and am pretty good at identifying most breeds . So far I have photographed a few breeds we dont see a whole lot of here ...such as Puli's,Basenji,Chinese Crested,Newfs ....and this weekend a English Toy Spaniel . I was excited because they are a cousin of one of my breeds .... the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel . The ETS is smaller than the Cavalier and has a smushier snout . Here is the little cutie pie from this weeked ...

Lately we have had some really good posing pups ! The following are some of my clients that really live up to their breed !

Border Collies are herding dogs , so when mom wanted a pic with the western theme I was excited to give her what she wanted ! This Border Collie looks so at home in this setting doesnt she ?

She has a prissy little sister though .... so she had to do a honorary girlie shot too ;)

Our next posing gal was a Shih Tzu whose mom was quite surprised when we got this great shot !

Sorry the Blog has been a little slow this week . I have Bronchitis and its been kicking my butt ! After finally getting myself to the doctor yesterday , where I got a breathing treatment,chest ray, 2 shots, antibiotics and oral steroids I should be back and running full speed ahead in no time !

Getting old is Ruff !

Our Calli is getting up there in age. In just a couple of months she makes 14 ! She was our very first dog ;) She has grown up with all 3 of our boys , starting off by sleeping in our 26 yr olds bed when she was a pup right now to present where she sleeps with our youngest son Peyton . She is doing pretty well for her age and some days she runs like a pup ! She doesnt look like she is 98 yrs old in human years ! But she is starting to do some things that tell me she really is getting up there . Her eyesight is not as good as it should be ,she is getting hard of hearing and sometimes she gets lost in the backyard ! She was never a dog to wander off ....she really has been a excellent dog ! But lately when she is left out a few minutes too long ,I find her wandering in the backyard settling by the very back gate ....somewhere she never used to go and she just sits there until I go look for her and then she jumps up as if to say ... Oh there you are ! LOL

She is also getting a little cranky and I dont trust her as much around others ...... I guess when you are her age its your right to want to just lie on your pillow in peace ;) She is a little crickety when she gets up when shes been sleeping too long . She has also become a very deeeeeeeep sleeper and now snores ! She has also reverted back to her puppy days and will steal any and all food .....even if its on your plate as your back is turned !

That said ........ she is still getting great checkups at the vet and seems to be doing O.K ;)

I wrote this to say ......Getting old is Ruff , but looking back on years of memories of a valued furry family member brings much joy and comfort ! Take lots of photos of your furbaby and enjoy every minute with them ....as years fly by too fast and they are taken from us too soon . I know Calli will be with us for awhile yet to come and we will enjoy her golden years as long as we are blessed with them !

How did I do that ??

I cannot tell you how many times a mom or dad comes into the studio and exclaims " I dont know HOW you're going to get HIM/HER to sit for a picture ! " ...... OR ...... " If you do this it will be a MIRACLE ! " I just laugh and say ..... dont worry , we have tricks ;)

You see ..... I can say with confidence now , that I can always get at least ONE perfect shot ;) and with tricks,noises,patience,perserverance and luck ....we usually get alot more than one ;) Sure , some dogs ( or cats ) or easier , or harder than others but its the tricks,alot of patience and some help from my wonderful assistants that make it all possible .

So how do I do it ? One of the ways is by using lots of noises to get the pets attention . I bark like a variety of dogs and do a very good version of a meow . People think I am quite nuts , but as long as we get the shot .....who cares right ?

I'm also glad that I have watched more than my share of Dog whisperer episodes. I use Cesar Milans techniques in the studio at times . The "Chhhh" works pretty well ;)

I am "dog tired" at the end of a photoshoot ...... but the puppy kisses and squeals from my parents as they see their baby's pictures on the screen make me thank God that the events in

my life led me to my business. I truly LOVE my job !

Someone Special came to Visit !!

Today I had a very special furbaby to photograph ! My little godchild ..... Emma Madeleine ! She lives all in the way in New York City ! But she made a special trip for her first photoshoot before her mommy ( my cousin Tiffany ! ) and daddy go back home . I think she is the prettiest lil yorkie in town ;)
